Public purpose

Capital is not the only thing worth allocating deliberately.

I direct a bounded part of my time, networks and institutional capacity toward areas where access, capital or attention can materially alter opportunity.

Commitments

  • Catalytic science

    The R3i Impact Foundation supports pathways through which research-led innovation in areas such as climate, water and health can move closer to meaningful deployment — helping consequential ideas cross the gaps between scientific possibility, institutional support and real-world application.

  • Women building technology

    Over many years I have supported women building and financing technology companies through mentoring, networks, market access and investment communities. The next phase is less about adding individual mentoring hours and more about strengthening the systems through which more women gain access to capital, relationships and institutional opportunity.

  • Education and community

    Teaching, alumni communities and civic participation have been important threads throughout my career. They remain part of the work where they create durable capability rather than simply another recurring obligation.

These are commitments, not additional businesses seeking operating time.

Public purpose should not be measured by the number of causes attached to a biography. It should be measured by whether the resources one can uniquely mobilise are being placed where they can matter most.
