LEESA SOULODRE

In less than 10 words, I am a pioneer, mentor, super connector and educator. For two decades I have had a portfolio career, as a management 
consultant, serial tech intra/entrepreneur, Digital Board Director and Adjunct. When I'm not imagineering, I have 3 passions - my family, design and journalism.  My purpose is to "make a difference".

Pioneer - I have had the privilege to lead tech and consulting companies from seed to $14B USD into new markets, and to share the exhilaration of 1 IPO, a number of exits and the hard knocks of lessons learned. I hold 15 years of Digital Director and Board Advisory experience in the not for profit, the academic and private sectors and have supported in the raising of over USD35M in seed to Series C investments. 

Today I lead as Innovation Director for Inspirit IoT, Inc and advise as an Expert on ICT Disruption and Innovation to the European Commission Research Agency. I am a Board Member of Runway Geelong, the $1.25 million incubator funded by the Victorian Government in Australia. I am a Cofounder of Hinounou Intelligent Robot Company.

Mentor - As a career Management Consultant, I have worked on the cutting edge of competitive strategy, risk management and innovation, engaged with more than 400 of the world's largest multinationals in 19 sectors across Europe, Asia Pacific and the Americas. As the Managing Partner and Chief Reputation Risk Officer of RL Expert Group, I hold deep industry expertise in financial services and insurance, technology, fashion, beauty and luxury, education, transport, healthcare and biotech. A recent project delivered was the digital risk transformation of the world's leading insurance company and the development of due diligence tools for corporate M&A and PE teams focused on Seed to Series B innovations.

Educator - Passionate to pay it forward and as a commitment to continuous learning, I serve as a Faculty Member of the IE-SMU MBA Programme at Singapore Management University teaching Critical Thinking, Think like a ReFounder and Design Thinking on the SMU Executive Education Programs and Future Series. I have collaborated as an Adjunct Lecturer / Professor in Marketing and Corporate Communications on the MBA and Undergraduate Programs of esteemed Universities for over a decade. From 2007 through to 2013, I delivered weekend Marketing and Communications classes on the MBA in Fashion and Luxury programs at Mod'Art International and the Paris Grand l'Ecole, Ecole Superieure de Gestion. My move to Asia transitioned me into Singapore Management University where I taught a night class on Risk Issues and Crisis Management and Content Strategy for Creative Communications at the Lee Kong Chian School of Business until 2014. I am honoured to have been listed on the Deans Honours Roll for my teaching of Risk Issues and Crisis Management. An accomplished moderator and speaker, I am a registered Keynote Speaker for the London Speakers Bureau. 

In 2014, I was the first Australian female Graduate of the TRIUM EMBA Programme, the #5 Financial Times ranked EMBA Program of NYU Stern, the London School of Economics and HEC School of Management, graduating in the top 7% of my class. I hold various other qualifications in Fashion Design (London College of Fashion), Marketing (USQ), Sustainability (Harvard), Risk Management (AGSM), Reputation Management (Reputation Institute) and Tech Entrepreneurship (Stanford). 

I am a Member of the Reputation Institute, the Global Association of Risk Professionals, the Australian Institute of Company Directors and the Public Relations Consultants Association.

Superconnector - I have served since 2016 as Chair of Digital Transformation and Governance and Chair of Ethics on the Management Committee of Australian Alumni Singapore (AAS), the umbrella organisation for the 140,000 Australian Alumni based in Singapore where I spearheaded the AAS Digital Village, a virtual Clubhouse for the collective Alumni of 43 Australian Universities. I recently collaborated as an Entrepreneur in Residence for Singex as the Platform Architect for Interchange.network - their exclusive community for IoT, Industry 4.0 Fintech, Healthtech, Last Mile Logistics and NextGen Retail. I am a proud Ambassador of Masters & Robots and supporter of SingularityU Warsaw Chapter.

Passions

Design - As the CoFounder of MaraJoara Swimwear, our Australian-Brazilian label took the country by storm as one of the pioneer Brands for Australian Women's Retailer Sportsgirl with a national “Girl of Ipanema” campaign in 2005. The advantage of Marajoara was its quality and designs with the team having more than 30 years experience in Brazil, white label manufacturing to the world's largest retailers including Bloomingdales, Marks and Spencer, Victoria Secrets and Parfois. The company then launched its Mercedes Australia Fashion Week 2006/2007 Spring/Summer collection and later closed Rosemount Australian Fashion Week Transeasonal Collections with a controversial "healthy" model tribute which ignited a trend that has reverberated around the world. Today 19 Vogue Editors across the world, commit to showcasing more responsible body images in their publications. The brand traded internationally as a premium brand until it closed its Brazilian operations in 2010.

Journalism - I first wet the ink of my pen, with a start as a Fashion Editor for ShopEast Magazine in Sydney back in 2006. Later I joined the team of Network Dessous in Milan, as a moonlighting Intimate Apparel Trade Journalist, delivering Tete a Tete interviews with Designers John Galliano, Stella McCartney and Elle McPherson. I covered the launch of the industries first Green Factories with Marks and Spencer, and delivered various features on the latest industry activities and trends for their 5 premium publications: Intima France, Linea Intima, Best of Intima Asia, Underlines and Best of Intima USA through to 2014. In 2011 in Switzerland, I cofounded RepRisk Insight, the biannual publication in responsible investment that communicates with 10,000 industry insiders. In Asia I have collaborated with Strategic Risk Magazine on various risk related features and commentary. 

More recently I have contributed a chapter to Deloitte Managing Partner, Dr Janson Yap's new book on "The Essentials of Future Governance," and in 2017 launched AAS Magazine, the annual magazine for Australian Alumni in Singapore. I am currently working on "Reputation Risk Management in an Asian Century", a book of 8 case studies across the Asia Pacific.
